Melbourne-headquartered Lightning Broadband has secured a substantial funding facility to support its national rollout of high speed fibre internet to greenfield residential and commercial developments.
Privately-owned Lightning Broadband arrived on Australia's internet connectivity scene in 2016, offering blistering fast unlimited data broadband without the need for an NBN connection.
The company has since become well-established in the Melbourne metropolitan area, where its Fibre-To-The-Premises (FTTP) services are used by thousands of residential and business customers.
The telco has already started to make its presence felt in other capital cities, including Perth and Sydney. Just recently, Lightning Broadband announced it will be FTTP based internet connectivity to all properties at a new housing estate in Sydney’s south-west suburbs.
Lightning Broadband's solutions also offer significant value to developers as connectivity infrastructure is implemented and maintained at no incremental cost.
River Capital Gets On Board
Lightning Broadband's funding facility is being provided by River Capital.
Established in 1996, River Capital prides itself on building long term, mutually beneficial relationships with the people and companies in which it invests. I hope our involvement gives the team confidence to continue to aggressively grow their offering," said River Capital Managing Director Barry Carp.
With River Capital's support, Lightning Broadband CEO Jeremy Rich is looking forward to the next stage of the company's evolution.
"We've had a great deal of interest in our services from all over Australia, and through our association with River Capital we're now in a position to address that demand at an accelerated pace".
