Melbourne's Lightning Broadband team are ready and raring to go for the company's biggest apartment connectivity project so far.
The ISP will be delivering super-fast internet access to residents and businesses housed within the Oros+ project located at 807-811 Warrigal Road Oakleigh, in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs.
Just minutes from the biggest shopping centre in Australia, it's a huge development covering an area of 3,686 square metres and consisting of three buildings - one with four floors, another with seven and the third with eighteen. Stage one has already sold out, with stage two now selling.
Hundreds Of Residences To Have Lightning Fast Internet
Lightning Broadband will soon start on making Oros+'s 348 residences plus retail premises within the development ready for its services.
"The expected completion date for Oros is January 2020," said Lightning Broadband CEO Jeremy Rich. "We'll begin to run cabling between buildings and the floors once concrete pouring begins - so we expect to make a start within 2 months."
Mr. Rich says there will be a number of serviced apartments within the development and Lightning Broadband will be providing WiFi coverage in these areas.
"Temporary residents will easily be able to access the internet within their rooms and also within common and other areas," he said.
Other Oros+ residents will be offered the company's full range of unlimited data residential and business plans boasting speeds of up to 1,000Mbps - download and upload.
Additionally, a tower situated atop Oros+ will beam internet connectivity to residents and businesses within line-of-sight of the development in the surrounding area.
Apartment Broadband A Special Focus
This project will be the company's third delivered development in Oakleigh, with more in the pipeline. Oros+ will add to Lightning Broadband's rapidly growing apartment development portfolio that currently consists of 21 completed projects - all executed within the last three years.
Everyone's A Winner
Lightning Broadband offers a unique value proposition to developers as the company installs its equipment at zero cost. This results in a win-win-win situation - the developer pays nothing, residents have access to incredibly fast internet connectivity with no data caps and Lightning Broadband expands its customer base.
Beyond Melbourne
While its activities have been confined to Melbourne and suburbs to date, another project of note recently announced was the company's first presence in Geelong; by way of the high-profile G1 residential development. Plans are also well advanced for Lightning Broadband to strike out beyond Victoria's borders and make its debut in Sydney this year.
